Three steps forward, one step back

Distance/Time: 2.25mi/30 minutes

It's been a while. Again, my health got in the way of my track record and I was laid low (read: bed ridden) for two days and just feeling crappy for a full week. Just when I was getting somewhere too. But, the past few days I've been feeling much better and best of all, my legs WANT to run! They're like two kids at Disney World begging to go on Space Mountain one more time (please? please? please?). And this morning, I was finally able to relent.

I took it nice and easy and walked for a few portions. While my legs wanted to go, my lungs were a bit more hesitant. So, it was a shorter, easier run, but one that was a promise of more to come. To paraphrase the movie, Ever After: The point is not that she ran well. The point, gentleman, is that she ran. Registration opens this Tuesday, I think, and I was worried that I'd lost my motivation to keep working towards this enormous goal. But no, I feel good, ready even, to commit.

My plan is to first, finish 3 consecutive days of the final C25K podcast. Then, it is to start running for distance, not time. My 30 minutes do not really cover the 5K that they are intended to. So, I want to get my 5K under a half hour and keep it there for a bit before beginning the bridge to 10K.
